Low Pressure Hydraulic Filter Assemblies
The Moduflow filter is widely considered the most versatile filter available on the market. The patented end cap minimizes turbulence and pressure loss through the filter, improving system performance. The newly designed closed bottom elements for the RFP and ILP models insures all contamination remains trapped within the element as the filter is serviced.
Medium Pressure Hydraulic Assemblies
The IL8 series filters are excellent choices for your demanding applications whether you require simplex, duplex or quadplex assemblies. Wherever high flow or high capacity filters are required, the IL8 series can be applied with confidence. Filter housings have a simple yet critical job… securely contain the filter element with positive internal sealing. The IL8 series filter housings are the result of careful engineering. High grade materials are used to provide strength at critical stress points. The cover and base are annodized aluminum, the handle is nickel plated ductile iron and the bowl is rugged carbon steel. The result is a reliable high performance filter for an array of applications.
Parker “CN” series filters fills the need for an economical, medium pressure range filter with excellent fatigue pressure ratings. Prior to the availability of the “CN” filter, applications such as those listed were restricted by limitations of a spin-on can, or forced into the higher cost range of high pressure filters. The “CN” series fills this gap, and now with the newly increased fatigue rating from 550 to 800 psi, the applications are expanded.
High Pressure Hydraulic Assemblies
Modern high pressure hydraulic systems are demanding. Better controls and long component life are expected. To deliver the high standards of performance, hydraulic components are built with tighter tolerances which increases their sensitivity to contamination. That’s where Parker pressure filters come into play. They filter out ingressed contamination before it jams a valve or scores a cylinder. They block pump generated debris before it gets to servo or proportional valves. Parker pressure filters are a key ingredient in meeting today’s system demands.
The 50P series allows you to customize each filter to closely match your needs. Choose the options which best fit your application. No need to waste money on features you don’t need. The 50P series filters are base mounted, which provides several possible advantages. The bowl up mounting makes servicing the elements quick and easy. Simply remove the top cover to access the element. A drain port is provided to allow oil be removed from filter prior to element servicing. This design reduces the possibility of oil spillage and injury to maintenance personnel. The 50P series has optional manifold porting for space saving design that reduces the number of fittings and potential leak points. The porting is also designed to match the installation of many other manufacturers. Most important, the 50P series meets the SAE HF4 automotive standard.
Particulate and Water Removal
Water removal by coalescing, sometimes referred to as liquid-to-liquid coalescing, removes water mechanically. Water within the fuel bonds with the fibers within the coalescing elements. The small water droplets grow as they pass through the filter structure becoming so large that when they complete passing through the coalescing element, gravity pulls them toward the bottom of the housing. We offer individual filter housings as well as complete skid packages.
Particulate & Water Prevention – Absorption
Velcon’s Aquacon® cartridges, with water absorptive media, chemically traps the water within its structure while also filtering particulates from the fuel. Velcon’s Aquacon®series cartridges are ideal when working with biodiesel and surfactant latent fuels. Velcon’s Aquacon® Diesel is available primarily as a water absorption filter or as both a water absorption and high grade ISO filter. Additionally, we offer water absorptive material with any of our micro-glass filtration options as well as spin on filters. We can size filter housings for any of water absorptive filter element options.

Vel-Max® Filter Vessel Configurations/Applications

|Vel-Max Series for liquid/liquid separation uses a 2-stage coalescer separator cartridge combination to remove free and emulsified water from a liquid product stream. The first stage coalescing cartridge provides filtration as well as coalescing of free and emulsified water. The second stage separator is a hydrophobic barrier designed to repel the coalesced water droplets. The water droplets will fall and collect in the sump for removal through the manual drain.||Vel-Max Series for 6” or 6.25” OD x 2.625” ID cartridges can be used in several ways. To remove solid contaminants from a flow stream, use the vessel with a pleated media filter. When used with Aquacon® cartridges the Vel-Max will remove solids and free water by absorption from a fuel or industrial oil flow stream. Using Vel-Max with clay cartridges will remove surfactants, color and other impurities by adsorption from a fuel or industrial oil system.|

The Viscostick gives a simple go/no-go result. Typically it will detect 5-10% distillate fuel dilution of an SAE 30 to 40 engine oil as well as increases in viscosity due to oil contamination.
Total Acid Number (TAN)
Testing for TAN is essential to maintain and protect your equipment, preventing damage in advance. This test measures both the weak organic and strong inorganic acids present within oil. A rise in TAN is indicative of oil oxidation due to time or operating temperature. This test kit is supplied with up to fifty tests, providing proper monitoring of TAN level trends. Simple to use drop test (results are displayed by color change) provides the user with easy to interpret results.
It is important to monitor combustion related debris and oxidation products. High insolubles will cause varnish formation on hot surfaces, sticking of piston rings and wear of cylinder liner and bearing surfaces. Insolubles also cause the detergent property of the oil to decrease, speeding further deterioration. This test is used to detect insolubles from diesel engine combustion products (such as fuel ash, carbon, partially oxidized fuel, oil oxidation products) and spent lubricant additive. Simple to use, and providing quick and accurate results, this test helps prevent engine damage.
Water in Oil
It is essential to maintain and protect equipment, while eliminating the damage caused by water in oil. The DIGI Water in Oil Test Kit provides state of the art, digital analysis and gives fast, accurate results for easy monitoring of trends. The Parker Kittiwake Heated Viscometer is a condition monitoring tool that enables the user to make informed operational and maintenance decisions about critical plant and equipment. Monitoring viscosity provides an early warning for potential fluid issues. Fuel and lubricating oils form a major cost element in the operation of almost all industrial machinery and engines; the quality must be closely monitored to protect the investment.
The viscosity of oil is regarded as the most important characteristic. The correct viscosity level provides flow resistance, optimum film strength in system clearances, and minimum friction losses and leakage. Viscosity can increase or decrease as a result of problems such as contamination, fuel dilution, and shear thinning. Measurement of viscosity is extremely important for hydraulic oils, diesel engine oils, gear, and fuel oils. Testing viscosity of fuel oil is important for verifying the correct grade of fuel is delivered, for calculating combustion performance, plus adjusting of fuel handling and injection systems. The Heated Viscometer is suitable for testing viscosity of both residual fuel and lube oil from a wide variety of applications including diesel engines, gas and aviation turbines, gear boxes, hydraulics and marine fuels.

The heated viscometer measures the viscosity of the oil sample using a ‘tilt’ motion, moving from side to side in both directions. While in motion, an internal rolling ball travels through the sample, using gravity, to calculate the viscosity. This measurement is taken at a specific temperature point.
