We were recently asked to improve upon the point of use filter for fuel (diesel) entering the gas turbine. The original filter was a metal edge style filter assembly that was not providing adequate protection. The Velcon VF-62 housing was a good fit dimensionally. It is a very versatile filter housing, good for both oil and diesel fuel applications. It fit nicely in the face to face area provided by the original filter.
Micro glass filter media offers the highest efficiency and dirt hold capacity and provides the best protection. The filter housing manufacturer does not offer the media we required so we are now building elements to fit in the housing. We can offer Beta ≥1000 absolute filtration in 1, 3, 6, 12 and 25 micron medias.
This High Purity filter and media combination can be used for any fuel or oil filtration application where a small filter housing is needed and filtration efficiency is critical. Water absorptive / micro glass combinations are available as well as Velcon’s Aquacon water absorptive media.

High Purity Northwest is here to help clean all types of fuel and oils. We are currently building duplex filter assemblies for the removal of particulate from the main diesel fuel supply line at a couple gas turbine power plants. These assemblies will be installed prior to the filter/separator vessels. The next phase of our diesel fuel addition for power generation is to offer duplex filter/separator coalescing assemblies. This will enable constant filtration and water removal without having to shut the system down to change filter elements.
